I'm getting my new Laser cutter in about two weeks!!! (wish my husband was as excited as I am)!

Where do you get your wood from and what kind is the best for mini making.

what kind did you get? if you got the glow forge- it comes with a few pieces- which are great to use for the measurements when you buy other wood- theirs is too expensive- although I will only use their acrylics- because there are so many acrylics that are dangerous or poisonous if you cut them with a laser- and I am a chicken. I get my wood on amazon- but if you got a glow forge make sure it is shorter than 20"- or that you have a saw you can cut off the extra (made that mistake once). congrats- you are going to love it

I get all of my MDF draft board through Glowforge since I get some much affiliate referral credit. I typically get my clear acrylic there too.

I buy Maple products from Home Depot Online one is the 1/4 and the other is 5/32 - it cuts amazing. Better than birch. No glue pockets, etc. We love this:

You can also get acrylic from Inventables (I have a CNC machine too): https://www.inventables.com/categories/materials

I love Houston Acrylic too: https://houstonacrylic.com/

And, Canal was one I used to use - shipping is super high: https://www.canalplastic.com/

I've had my Glowforge for almost 4 years now - and I'm ready to go more pro, but honestly, this serves my needs for the projects I do.

Material pricing has gone up everywhere. I hate that but it is what it is.

I meant to say I also get this stuff from Amazon Basswood and MDF in thinner sheets:
