Creating dollhouse miniatures is fun! Especially when you can think of cheap ways to make items for your dollhouse or miniature scents. Like these Miniature Magazines for examples. They are so fun to make, cheap and you only need a few supplies.

What will you need?

  • Magazines: Find magazines that are the right thickness for miniature magazines. Also you want the binder to be glued, not stapled. TIP: You can use stapled magazines, but will need to add a bit of glue down the seam of the binding, between every page, to hold them together.
  • Junk Mail: Make sure the mail is the right thickness.
  • Small notepads: Ever get these as junk mail? They work great!
  • Cutting tool: my favorite is regular scissors. If you want to be more precise, use a ruler and a xacto blade.
  • Glossy paper: I like to use glossy paper for the shines. You can also use Mod Podge which gives the magazine cover and backs a nice gloss. Simply use a paint brush to apply and let dry.
  • Glue: I use fast drying glue.
  • Mini magazine printouts: You can create your own magazine covers or use ones I have provided. You can find my free miniature magazines printout here.
